    8. Seed and fertilization monitoring 8.1. Seed density failure This failure occurs when the number of seeds that are being sown per row is out of its limits. These limits where specified in Seed Density and Seed Tolerance options by the user. Every time a failure occurs, a description of it will be displayed and an alarm will go off indicating this situation.

  • Page 26: Variable Rate Application (Vra)

    11. Variable Rate Application (VRA) The computer constantly controls the product rate (Seed and/or fertilizer). This rate can be done manually or automatically. Every time the fertilizer type or the planting system configuration is modified, the computer calibration must be configured again. This calibration must be done every time it is necessary in order to achieve a greater precision when significant changes in the humidity or temperature occur (these changes produce variations to the weight per unit of fertilizers volume).
  • Page 27 Figure 17. “Fert, L. Rate Calibration” Screen. 4. During this process, the amount of fertilizer thrown by a pipe must be weighted using a precise scale. It is recommended to take various samples and then average them out. Load this value in grams (Figure 18), using the up arrows ( ) or down arrows ( ó...
  • Page 28: Manual Rate Mode

IMPORTANT. Note that in order to control the applied product quantity, the computer neither weight the fertilizer nor count the amount of seeds applied but it regulates the rounds of the dispenser command shafts according to the values entered during the calibration process. Thus, this calibration is of vital importance for the implement’s correct operation Figure 19.

The dbf and shp files of a prescription are automatically generated with GIS software appropriated for agricultural studies. Note that these files have the name in a 8.3 format (8 letters for the file’s name and 3 letters for the SHP or DBF extension). The shp file can contain 100 areas as maximum and its size doesn’t have to be higher than 250Kg.

  • Page 33: Appendix A. Warnings And Error

Appendix A. Warnings and error Short-circuit! Check sensor This message appears when a short circuit in a sensor is detected. This mainly occurs when the wiring that connects it to the nodes is damaged and the wire’s copper strands touch each other. The sensor with problems will be indicated with the icon in the Pipes tab or in the Chart tab.
  • Page 34 USB device is not detected This warning appears when USB storage device (Pen drive) is not detected for any reason. Make sure that USB device works properly and that it is correctly connected to USB port. The pen drive must have a FAT type format (nor FAT32 or other format).
  • Page 35 input and output shaft (gears, shaft, bearings, chains, etc.) are working correctly. Also check that all CVT corresponding to the same product respond in front of a rate change. Different Fertilizer / Seed speed This message can appear in agricultural implements that work with more than one CVT to command the same product.
  • Page 36 Error in internal EEPROM writing This error is produced when the data cannot be loaded onto the computer’s internal memory, this is because of a damage in the memory. If this error is repeated, is recommended to send the computer to our technical department Connected nodes do not coincide with the configured ones This error occurs when any node connected to CAN branch was not configured in the computer.
