  • Page 6 3: insTalling The ValVe(s) and Flow meTer(s) The Hydrocom system comes standard with one valve and one flow meter sensor. An additional valve and flow meter sensor can be added to the system. Typical uses include a dedicated hot water line in a condominium or office space, an irrigation/sprinkler supply, or a guest house.

    COnTROlleR PRIOR TO COnneCTIng THe POWeR SuPPly anD TuRnIng THe unIT On TO avOID DaMagIng THe COnTROlleR. The hydrocom sysTem has 17 terminals on the front of the control panel. They are numbered from the left to the right. Simply insert the stripped wire into the terminal, and tighten the screw.

    Sensor power is provided by two AA batteries with a life expectancy of three to five years. To install the batteries (included) open the transceiver by squeezing the front cover of the transceiver at the 3 and 9 o’clock position to pull the cover off. Insert the batteries according to the outline on the circuit board.

It is essential to understand the system monitors water usage two ways. 1) CuMulaTIve uSage: Measures how much water is used in total, just like the odometer in your car. 2) COnSeCuTIve uSage: Measures how much water is used continuously.

  • Page 21 SynCHROnIzIng WITH an alaRM SySTeM: One transceiver can be enabled to change the Home and Away modes. STeP 1: Make sure the controller and alarm system are both in the Home mode. STeP 2: Connect a wire from the normally open output and alarm panel to the input on the transceiver.

    The hydrocom sysTem by Hydrocom requires very little maintenance, and even performs some daily maintenance automatically. WIReleSS SenSORS: The only maintenance the Sensors require is the changing of the batteries. When the voltage drops below a certain level, the sensor will transmit this information to the controller where an alarm message e.g.
  • Page 24 If you still do not have water, close the valves before and after the flow meter, slowly loosen the unions to release the water pressure, and inspect or clean the flow sensor. Replace the flow sensor before turning the valves back on. If the problem persists, please call the licensed plumber.
