Getting Started

Before First Use
• Unpack the appliance but keep all packaging materials until you have made sure your new
Deep Fryer is undamaged and in good working order. Plastic wrapping can be a suffocation
hazard for babies and young children, so ensure all packaging materials are out of their reach.
• Press the lid open button to open the appliance and take the frying basket, power cord and
protective paper sheet out of the oil container.
• It is highly recommended to clean the lid, casing, container and frying basket as described in
the Care and Maintenance section.
• The cord attachment at the base of the fryer is a magnetic connection designed to release
quickly. Very little pressure is required when making this connection. Look for the words "This
Side Up" when making this connection.
• Make sure that the fryer voltage (see rating plate) and the line voltage match.
• Ensure the plug connection with the socket completely before using.
Operating Instructions
1. Make sure that the appliance is unplugged and switched off (the control lamps are off).
2. Press the lid open button to open the appliance.
3. Remove the frying basket and fill the container with oil or grease (maximum). The filling level
must be located between the minimum and the maximum level.
4. Insert the plug into a 120V, 60Hz power socket. The green control lamp lights up. Set the
desired temperature by turning the temperature control.
5. The red control lamp lights up. Once the set temperature has been reached, the red control
lamp goes off.
6. Ensure that the handle of the frying basket is in the correct position. The frying basket must
not be more than 2/3 full. Do not overfill the frying basket.
7. Press the handle release button lower the frying basket containing the items to be fried
carefully into the hot oil and close the lid.
8. The red control lamp switches on and off several times during frying. This is normal and it
indicates that the temperature is controlled by the thermostat and is being maintained. Once
the frying time is over (the frying times are to be found on the packaging of the food or in the
recipe), lift up the frying basket.
9. Let the oil drip from the food being fried. Then open the lid and take out the basket.
10. In order to switch off the machine, turn the temperature knob to MIN and remove the plug
from the socket.
