    WARNINGS AND PRECATIONS • CAUTION: TO PREVENT ELECTRIC SHOCK, MATCH WIDE BLADE OF PLUG TO WIDE SLOT, FULLY INSERT. • WARNING: To prevent fire or shock hazards, do not expose this unit to rain or moisture. • WARNING: The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and that no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall not be placed on apparatus. • CAUTION: Use of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other than those specified may result in hazardous radiation exposure. • WARNING: Changes or modifications to this unit not expressly approved by the party re- sponsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment. • WARNING: Do not place the unit on top of any soft, porous, or sensitive surfaces to avoid dam- aging the surface. Use a protective barrier be- tween the unit and surface to protect the surface.
  • Page 3 Read these Instructions. Keep these Instructions. Heed all Warnings. Follow all instructions. Do not use this apparatus near water. Clean only with a dry cloth. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding - type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your safety. When the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus. Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer. Use only with a cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/ apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped. Grounding or Polarization - This product may be equipped with a polarized alternating current line plug (a plug having one blade wider than the other). This plug will fit into the power outlet only one way. This is a safety feature. If you are unable to insert the plug fully into the outlet, try reversing the plug. if the plug should still fail to fit, contact your electricioan to replace your obsolete outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug. Ventilation - Slots and opening in the cabinet are provided for venilation and to ensure reliable operation of teh product and to protect it from oberheatingm and these openings must not be blocked or covered. The openings should never be blocked by placing the product on a bed sofa, rug, or other similar surfaces. This product should not be placeed in a built-in installation such as a bookcase or rack unlaess proper ventilation is provided or the manufacturer’s instructions have been adhered to.

    █ USING THE S-VIDEO OUTPUT Requires an S-Video Cable, not included. The S-Video Cable is labelled with the number 1 in the diagram on the previous page. 1. Plug an S-Video Cable into the S-Video output on the unit. 2. Plug the other end of the S-Video Cable into the S-Video Input on a television. 3. Adjust the connected television’s input setting to S-Video. This is typically done by pressing a TV/ Video, or Source Button either on the television or on the television’s remote. Check the speaker connections on the unit to ensure audio playback.

    DVD OPERATIONS █ PLAYING A DVD Press the Open/Close Button to open the disc drawer. 2. Load a DVD into the unit. 3. The DVD will start playing automatically. If the DVD does not start playing automatically, press the Play/Pause Button to begin playing the loaded DVD. • Press the Play/Pause Button to pause a DVD during play.

    █ PROGRAMMING A DVD 1. While a DVD is playing, press the Prog/ Mem Button on the remote control. 2. Use the Number Keypad to type the title number into the first blank, and the chapter number into the second blank. 3. Repeat step 2 until the desired chapters are programmed, then press the Play Button. 4.
