To change the battery in a 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK 350:

1. Apply the electric parking brake and shift the transmission to position P.
2. Switch off all electrical consumers (e.g., radio, blower).
3. Turn the key to position 0 and remove it, or ensure the ignition is off if using KEYLESS-GO.
4. Open the bonnet.
5. The battery is located in the engine compartment on the front bulkhead under the water tank on the right-hand side when facing the direction of travel.
6. Turn the fasteners a quarter turn and remove the water tank to access the battery.
7. Disconnect the terminal clamps in the correct order.
8. Remove the battery and replace it with a tested and approved battery.
9. Ensure the surface of the new battery is clean and free of contamination.
10. Reconnect the battery and reassemble components in reverse order.

The 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK 350 does not have a battery in the trunk; it is located in the engine compartment.
