    This is a shame because that was a handy feature which now has to be accessed through the menu system. The real changes to the D5300 are on the inside. Most notably, the D5300 has inher- ited a feature from the more expensive D7100 — a 24MP CMOS sensor without an Anti-Aliasing blur filter, which promises sharper more detailed images.

    The top of the camera Most of the important buttons are on the top of the D5300. This makes it easier to find them, especially when you have your eye to the viewfinder. This is where you find the dial to change the shooting modes, as well as the all-important shutter-release button and the Movie record button.
