    VCS 40C VHF COMMUNICATION SYSTEM INSTALLATION MANUAL SECTION 1 – GENERAL INFORMATION Introduction This section contains information relative to the physical, mechanical, and electrical characteristics of the Wulfsberg VCS 40C VHF Communications System. This manual is applicable only to VC-401C Transceiver and CD-402C Control Display. Applicability This manual applies to VC-401C Transceivers and CD-402C Control Displays.

    VCS 40C VHF COMMUNICATION SYSTEM INSTALLATION MANUAL The system uses full-time self-test to monitor key internal circuits and to display the word "FAIL" followed by a preassigned number to indicate which specific module has failed. Refer to the Pilot’s Guide for FAIL message details. The system is designed for compatibility with ARINC Characteristic 429 Digital Information Transfer System to allow external frequency control of the VHF communications system.
