Main Menu Alarm Video Detection Vicon’s video loss detectors allow you to detect a loss of sync signal or a loss of video and sync signal. Video loss occurs when the video level is outside the upper and lower percentage limits set in Setting the Sensitivity Level on page 10.
Monitors and Cameras Defining the Monitor Number Main Menu Monitor Select the monitor number of the monitor that will be used for video loss detection. For example, if you looped video out of monitor output 12 on your control system to make the connection to the IN BNC on the rear panel of the video loss detector, you must choose monitor number 12 in this screen.
To find the appropriate settings for your cameras, leave the video level settings at 0-100 with one bar highlighted for the average-to-peak setting (this is the Vicon default). Point the camera at the scene that it will normally be used to view. To determine how bright or how dark the scene must be before an alarm is detected, you must first use the Rubout key to exit out of the programming menus.
Defaults and Diagnostics Installing Defaults Main Menu Administration Install Defaults The video loss detector comes from the factory with certain defaults installed. You may reinstall the factory defaults at any time. It is important to note that installing factory defaults replaces all of the customized programming choices that you have made.
