Thank you for purchasing the AccuReader
wafer reading system by LockTech. This system will
allow you to read the new Kawasaki keyway,
identified by "KM10" being stamped on the face of
the ignition. The KM10 AccuReader will read these
locks completely and accurately without the removal
of the ignition or other lock. Following a few simple
steps it takes only minutes to read the depths for
each cut in each position for a complete key.
The AccuReader works on the process of
elimination to decipher the correct depths of the lock.
By checking the deepest cut first you eliminate what
the cuts are not. Therefore it is essential to always
read the deepest possible depth first, in this case the
#3 slide.
The AccuReader key is used for all wafer
positions 1-8 for a complete key.
Ignition = 1-8
Gas = 3-8
Seat = 3-8
Please take the time to familiarize yourself
with the tools and verify all pieces are accounted for
from the list of contents below:

Using the KM10 AccuReader
IMPORTANT: The 3I & 2I depth slides are to be
used on the ignition and the 3G & the 2G slides
are to be used on the gas cap or seat lock.
by
Use the following directions to read all 8
wafer positions from the ignition. After reading all 8
positions from the ignition, it is advised to read
positions 3-8 from the gas cap or the seat to compare
your findings from the ignition.
USING THE ACCUREADER
1) Always thoroughly clean the lock with a electronics
safe cleaner to free any potentially stuck wafers.
2) Use the alignment holes through the AccuReader
key to assist in judging the distance from one wafer
position to the next.
3) Place the insertion/release slide in the slot on the
AccuReader key and fully insert the AccuReader key
into the keyway and remove the slide. If the
AccuReader pulls out some before it traps a wafer,
remove the AccuReader and insert it on the opposite
side. It should now trap a wafer with the key fully
inserted. The AccuReader key is now ready to read
the #8 wafer.
4) Always start reading with the #3I depth slide
tool, then proceed to #2I if necessary. Fully insert
the depth slide into the AccuReader key. The
alignment mark on the depth slide will line up with the
(Y) Yes mark or it will line up with the (N) No mark.
a) If the #3I depth slide lines up with the Y
then the depth for the #8 wafer is a 3. If the depth
slide lines up with a N, then you must proceed to the
#2I depth slide.
b) If the #2I depth slide lines up with the Y
then the depth for the #8 wafer is a 2. If the depth
slide lines up with a N, then the depth for
wafer #8 is a 1.
c) Repeat steps a through c for each wafer
position until you have recorded the depth for all 8
wafer positions.
d) After reading all 8 positions in the ignition,
insert the AccuReader fully into the gas cap lock or
seat lock and read positions 3-8 to confirm your
readings from the ignition. Be sure to use the 3G &
2G slides on the gas cap or seat lock.
e) You now have recorded all the positions to
make a complete key.
