Place the templates onto the top of the barrel/
container lid.
• The in-feed and out-feed ports are marked on
the template, make sure these are facing in
opposite directions.
• Make sure there is a 2" space between the edge of the
lid and the template drawing. See Figure 4.
• Tape the two templates to the top of the barrel/container
lid and trace the inner circle with a marker onto the lid.

Mark the direction of the in-feed and out-feed on to the
barrel/container lid with an arrow.

Leave the templates in place and drill the four holes in
each template. Remove the templates.

Use a jigsaw or suitable cutting tool to cut the holes in the
barrel/container lid. NOTE: Drilling a pilot hole may help
create a better staring point.

Secure the 4" ports and in-feed/out-feed elbows to the
barrel/container lid.
• The ports are installed to the top of the lid and the
elbows to the bottom so they will be on the inside of the
barrel/container.
• Make sure the in-feed/out-feed elbows are facing the
opposite directions, as shown in Figures 4 and 5.
• There are two sets of hardware supplies, use the
correct hardware for the barrel/container lid. The longer
bolts and nuts are for thick lids and the shorter bolts
and nuts are for thin lids.

Place the lid onto the barrel or container and attach and
secure the dust collection hoses and hook-ups to the dust
collections system and machine being used.
NOTE: When the dust collection system is turned on the debris
is pulled into the barrel/container and separated, the heavier
wood chips fall to the bottom and the lighter dust particles are
pulled into the dust collection system as shown in Figure 5.
