- Page 3 USING THE STOCKPOT PASSIVATION It’s a good idea to passivate with an acid based solution. Fill the pot and basket with StarSan or other acid sanitizing solution at the recommended strength and at a temperature of 70-80oF for 20 minutes, followed by an air dry.
