1)

Introduction

The MK-III-LR radio repeater was designed to improve signal quality between the MK-lll-LR
weather station and receiving devices in situations where direct line-of-site is not possible or
where obstacles impede the transmission of radio signal. Repeaters can be used to obtain a
continuous signal around corners or boost a weak signal within buildings. Multiple repeaters can
be used should this be necessary.

Installation

2.1) Selecting Appropriate Location

The MK-III-LR Repeater has a maximum range of 1 mile clear line-of-sight between itself and
the transmitting device, and again between itself and the receiving device.
The Repeater must be located in a place that is weatherproof, within reach of an electrical outlet,
and free from obstructions to communications. Things that may reduce or disable
communications are:
 Metal roofing or siding
 Brick, stone or cement structures
 Trees or dense foliage

2.2) Set-up

To set the MK-III-LR Repeater for communications, the switches on the bottom of it must be
configured.
The configuration code
between the MKIII Sensor Assembly
and the Repeater must be different
than the configuration code between
the
receiving
device(s)
Repeater.
Configuration of the switches is
shown here in the photo and also on
the bottom of your repeater.
Receive (switches 1 & 2) – refers to
the signal that the Repeater will
receive
from
the
Assembly.
Transmit (switches 3 & 4) – refers to
the signal that will be transmitted to
the receiving device(s).
and

MKIII Sensor
