    Safety instructions Safety instructions Intended use This device is intended to be used for the distribution of DMX signals from one to multiple DMX chains, or to extend a DMX chain. Use the device only as described in this user manual. Any other use or use under other operating conditions is considered to be improper and may result in personal injury or property damage.
  • Page 7 Safety instructions Safety DANGER! Danger for children Ensure that plastic bags, packaging, etc. are disposed of properly and are not within reach of babies and young children. Choking hazard! Ensure that children do not detach any small parts (e.g. knobs or the like) from the unit.

    Installation Installation Unpack and check carefully there is no transportation damage before using the unit. Keep the equipment packaging. To fully protect the device against vibration, dust and moisture during transportation or storage use the original packaging or your own packaging material suitable for transport or storage, respectively.
  • Page 12 Installation DMX connections Three- and five-pin XLR sockets serve as DMX outputs, a three- or five-pin XLR plug is (option‐ ally) used as DMX input.     Starting up Starting up Establish all connections as long as the unit is switched off. Use the shortest possible high- quality cables for all connections. NOTICE! Possible interference in data transmission To ensure smooth operation use special DMX cable instead of normal micro‐ phone cable.
  • Page 14 Starting up DMX connections The figure below shows schematically how to integrate the unit into a DMX configuration. Connect the device (S) as the last part of the DMX chain, which starts with your DMX controller (C). To do so, connect the DMX input of the device to the DMX output of the second last DMX device in this DMX chain.

  • Page 17 Components and functions 1 Main switch Turns the device on or off. 2 DMX IN DMX input. 3 DMX OUT Direct DMX output for connecting additional DMX devices or DMX splitter within the same DMX chain as the DMX input. This output is only active when the LINK OUT / TERMINAL switch is not pressed. 4 1, 2, 3, 4 DMX outputs 1 to 4 to connect further DMX chains.
