    1 Introduction This manual’s feature descriptions are based on the software release 1.2. The features listed here are the subset of features that are supported by the DC12U PLC data concentrator. 1.1 Audience This reference manual is intended for administrators and other engineers responsible for installing and managing the DCU by using the DC configurator or Web User Interface (Web UI).

When administering your DCU using the information in this document, you should pay special attention to these indicators. Each example below provides an explanatory remark regarding each type of indicator.

    DC12 PLC Data Concentrator User Manual 2 Safety 2.1 Safety requirements Installing, uninstalling, parameterization and verification can be performed only by authorized organizations that have qualified technicians. Only qualified persons should install DCU. DCU connection or disconnection from network should be done when voltage in the network is turned off.

In case malfunctions cannot be eliminated on the spot, the DCU should be returned to the manufacturer for repair or replacement.     4 DCU Configuration using Web UI Supported Browsers DC12U WEB UI supports following browsers: Firefox, Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome. DCU comes with self-signed HTTPS certificate. You will receive warning from your browser about untrusted certificate until you upload your HTTPS certificate to DCU.

    Alerts – Current active DCU alerts. Clicking on Alerts icon expands active alerts list. • Connected users – list of currently connected to DC12U users. Access level and user IP address. • Latest log entries – list of latest important log entries.
  • Page 16 DC12 PLC Data Concentrator User Manual First submenu – List. Contains list of meters currently present in DC12U database. DCU itself is also present in this list. No electricity meter is present in the current DC12U modification. Amount of listed meters per page can be changed to 7, 10, 20, 25 rows. User can search meter list using any part of meter serial number.

    It is possible to generate billing profile report for selected dates. CSV report includes all meters available in specific DC12U. Data concentrator stores generated reports for repeated downloads. Maximum number of stored reports – 15. When limit is reached, oldest stored report will be deleted from DC12U. Administrator can manually delete reports one by one.

    PLC PAN ID – current PAN ID used by DCU. Alarm also is displayed by alarm LED on DC12U faceplate. If hardware platform is equipped with buzzer, it will sound when alarm is triggered. Alarm can be triggered by following events: •...

IP address, subnet mask and default gateway, received from cellular operator, will be displayed accordingly.

    • RAM Size – total available RAM in kilobytes. • RAM Status – current RAM usage status (refreshes every 5 seconds). DC12U will auto reboot if less than 50MB of free RAM is available. Figure 4.13.     There may be some graphical issues displaying table if very long period is selected. 4.2.7 Status. Runtime information. Runtime information page displays detailed statistics of DC12U operating system status. Usually information needed only for debugging purposes. All data is read only.

    Ethernet configuration tab allows setting up IP information for Ethernet ports. Right column displays current active setting. It refreshes every 5 seconds.     Figure 4.23. User management page 4.3.3 Firmware update DC12U can be upgraded via WEB UI. It is not possible to downgrade DC12U software via WEB UI. If there was any critical error in upgrade process DC12U will revert to last good firmware.
  • Page 29 • Admin user must upload update package to DC12U and initiate upgrade. • DC12U will check package contents. If file was received correctly and it is newer than current version, DCU will start upgrade process. • No user interaction is needed during upgrade process. DCU will not reboot while upgrading or after upgrade.

Please update Microsoft .NET3.5 libraries if needed. Libraries are available from Microsoft and not included in DC Configurator distributable.

Please select provided meter firmware file, select meters, which will be upgraded, and time when firmware has to be activated. If activation timer is not set, firmware will be activated (meter will reboot) right after successful firmware transmission to meter.

Moving through the list of meters, in the lower part on the Active tab, displayed detailed configuration of the active tariff for the selected meter.

When updating the tariff on the meter, the outdated data on the meter’s tariff schedule is deleted from the controller’s database.

All data and settings under this menu is read and written directly to the meter. Because connection is between managing station and DCU, then from DCU to meter via PLC, reaction time for each action can be slow.

White list is used to allow only listed meters to be able to register to DCU. By default it is disabled, any meter is allowed to register on DCU via PLC.
