Service Kit Parts
Power supply
Fan
Fan bracket screws (2) with nuts (2)
Security screw bit
Tools Required
Phillips screwdriver
Driver for security screw bit
Flathead screwdriver
Box knife
Clean, dry cloth
Canned air (multi-purpose duster safe for electronic circuitry)
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) wristband or other ESD protection
Open and Clean Chassis
1. . Turn off player.
2. Disconnect all cables including the power cord.
3. Remove from rack

  • Page 3 Movie Player Power Supply and Fan Replacement July 22, 2010 7. Turn the player so the back of the player faces away. 8. Place both hands on the top of the chassis at the back. Use both the palms of the hand and fingers to push and unseat the chassis lid. Listen for the snap.

Attach ESD wristband and clip to any side of the chassis (or provide other ESD protection while performing these procedures). 2. Remove the power supply output cable assembly from the power supply. If needed, use a flathead screwdriver to disengage the locking lever to unplug the cable assembly.

Remove the fan power connector from the main board. 6. Remove the fan. Loosen and remove the two screws holding the fan to the fan bracket.
  • Page 6 Movie Player Power Supply and Fan Replacement July 22, 2010 7. Discard fan mounting screws. Replace Fan and Power Supply 1. Install the new fan. Feed the fan power cable and connector through channel and attach the fan to the fan bracket using the screws provided in the service kit.
  • Page 7 Movie Player Power Supply and Fan Replacement July 22, 2010 2. Connect the fan power cable to the main board. 3. Install the new power supply. Align the holes on the power supply with the chassis mount. Replace screws and screw onto the chassis finger tight. 4.
  • Page 8 Movie Player Power Supply and Fan Replacement July 22, 2010 5. Connect the AC inlet connector. 6. Verify that all connectors are completely locked in place and secure. 7. Disconnect ESD wristband if used. Reattach Chassis Lid 1. Align the chassis lid. The metal piece on the front fits into the notches on the chassis.
