    Chapter GETTING STARTED Installation Guide Camera and Monitor Installation This manual will help you assemble and configure your digital video recorder system. It is easy to setup your digital video recorder just follow the instructions on pages 15 through 29 for your basic setup.

    Chapter BASIC MENU SETUP GETTING STARTED with the BASIC MENU SETUP In this section we will cover basic menu settings to get you started. Connect the AC Power Cord with Power Adapter and plug into an electrical AC outlet. Power button is on the front panel, turn the button on.

  • Page 24 RECORD SETTINGS In this section we will cover General Menu Settings to get you started. When you become more familiar with the DVR settings later, you can tailor your DVR. Your DVR can record video data from hours to months depending on the MENU SETTINGS. The key MENU SETTINGS are: 1.
  • Page 25 some one walking across a room. If you laid out the 25 pictures, what you will have is a smooth flowing sequence of pictures of someone crossing a room. If you take out every other picture, you would have 12 pictures and a snap shot picture affect. The 12-pictured video is not considered to be real time.

Why use valuable recording time or hard drive space to record a closed door or an empty parking lot when you can set your recorder to only record when motion occurs. Continue with motion setup by going to ALARM DURATION and setting up recording time for motion detection. ALARM DURATION The MOTION trigger recording time will depend on ALARM DURATION mode setting and it will record from the last trigger time.

    OPERATIONS RECORDING OPTIONS The DVR offers four recording modes: ALARM, TIMER, MANUAL and MOTION Trigger. 1. ALARM RECORDING: DVR is triggered by an alarm input indicated by the letter “A” and the symbol 2. TIMER RECORDING: Recording is scheduled by a timer Indicated by the letter “T”. 3.

    ALARM RECORDING SETUP You can use Pins 2 through 9 and Pins 15 through 22 as alarm inputs. 1. When ALARM settings are set to HIGH: you can use these inputs to connect to any device that will output a 5VDC TTL signal. When alarm input signal is HIGH, the unit starts to record and sound buzzer if active.

    Example 1: If you set the ALARM DURATION to 1 min, and motion is detected at 9:00:00. The recording time will be from 9:00:00 to 9:01:00. If the motion detection triggers again at 9:00:40 while still recording the triggered recording time will change from 9:00:00 to 9:00:40. The full recording time will be from 9:00:00 to 9:01:40.

    Example scenario: Alarm duration is set to 1 min and motion detection recording time starts from 9:00:00 to 9:01:00 to create our first event. Motion detection is trigged again at 9:00:40 to create our 2 event, the trigged recording time acknowledges the new motion trigger from 9:00:00 to 9:00:40 and 9:00:40 to 9:01:40.

    2. To connect to the world wide area network for remote viewing you must configure your router to allow port forwarding. Super Circuits does not provide technical support for router setup. Contact your service provider/router manufacturer for support on setting up port forwarding.
  • Page 48 5. Make sure that you have the following information from your IP provider or IT department: a. IP address. b. Subnet Mask. c. Default Gateway. d. If there is a DNS number. e. If DHCP settings are allowed set your DVR to “Manual” not “Automatic”. Next verify your IP address (for your domain) by going to www.whatismyip.com.
  • Page 49 7. Exit the setup menu. Turn DVR power off for ten seconds or more and restart the DVR. If the DVR is connected to a router it is a good idea to recycle the power on it also. Test your DVR & PC connection 1.
  • Page 50 3. A black box will pop up with a “C” prompt. After the “C” prompt type “ping” at the dos prompt, space bar and the IP address of the DVR and then click “>ENTER”. Fig 1: 4. A box will pop up and it should say “reply from” the IP address. You will also see “Packets sent = X, Received = X and Lost = X.

Check the Ethernet cable connection on the back of the DVR and check for a green light and that they blink when you “ping” the DVR. If it is not blinking, this could indicate that the DVR’s network interface card is bad and call us for tech support.

    SPECIFICATIONS For DVR system to function properly you must lock hard drive. Note : 1. If your using two HDDs make sure one drive is set to “Master“ mode and the other HDD in Slave mode. 2. This product does not support hot swap. Please power off the unit before removing HDD. 3.

    COMPATIBLE DISK BRANDS 4. To insure extended operating life make sure power is off when removing and installing hard drive. Allow 60 seconds or more when powering on or off. 5. Set hard drive to Master or Slave mode depending on number of drives your using. APPENDIX 1 INSTALLING HDD Please follow the next steps carefully in order to ensure correct installation.

    Reinsert the Cartridge Casing into the DMR Fully insert the Cartridge Case into the DMR. Lock the Cabinet Lock the cabinet by turning the key clockwise. APPENDIX #2 – RACK MOUNT Screws and brackets for rack mounting applications can be purchased as an optional accessory.
