Adjustable White Umbrella
The ADW Adjustable White Umbrella has a black exterior with a white
polyurethane-coated interior. This is the most light-efficient white interior
umbrella in the world.
White interior for maximum light reflection with lower contrast than
silver umbrellas. It uses industry exclusive flexible oversized fiberglass ribs
and struts with new and improved beefy rib and strut pivot points. Four
moveable ribs make this umbrella adjustable; allowing you to alter the
shape of the umbrella. Quickly change shape from standard (round) to
square or oval with ease.
These instructions include
• Opening the umbrella.
• Securing the umbrella to your light.
• Adjusting the shape of the umbrella.
• Folding the umbrella.
Opening the Umbrella
The Umbrella opens like a common
rain umbrella. Figures 1 – 4
1. Pull open the Velcro strap that holds the umbrella closed.

2. Reach under the material to find the metal slider on the post.
3. Push the slider up the post and the umbrella will open.
4. The umbrella will lock in place when the metal slider is pushed over
the metal locking tab on the post.
Securing the Umbrella to your Light
NOTE: Set up your light stand and light head in the manner suggested by
your equipments' manufacturers.
Most light heads, head mounting clamps, and LiteStand mounts will
have a receptacle and locking mechanism for securing the umbrella in
front of the light. Figures 5 – 7
5. Here we show a ShoeMount MultiClamp (available separately) as
our umbrella and flash support. Slide the post of the umbrella into
the receptacle hole.

Adjusting the Shape of the Umbrella
8. The ADH and ADW 30 and 45 inch umbrellas can be reshaped,
allowing for finer control of light coverage and shape of light
reflections. Reshaping the umbrella can also save space on the set.
The umbrella is reshaped by moving individual ribs on the umbrella.
9. Four of the eight ribs are stationary and should NOT be moved.
These ribs have loops sewn over the ribs to keep them in place. The
remaining four ribs can be moved.
10. The plastic end cap on each umbrella rib has two receptacle holes
for the ribs. When the umbrella is in its orginal or round shape,
each end cap will have one rib inserted. Gently pull the end-cap
from the end of a movable rib.
