GENERAL INFORMATION Unpacking: Thank you for purchasing the Boom Box FX3 by ADJ Products, LLC. Every Boom Box FX3 has been thoroughly tested and has been shipped in perfect operating condition. Carefully check the shipping carton for damage that may have occurred during shipping. If the carton appears to be damaged, carefully inspect your fixture for any damage and be sure all equipment necessary to oper- ate the unit has arrived intact. -

During operation the housing may become extremely hot. Avoid touching the unit with bare hands while in use. ADJ Products, LLC will not accept any liability for any resulting damages caused by the non-obser- vance of this manual or any unauthorized modification to this unit. -

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS Safety Issues: This unit may “pop” the fuse if the maximum allotted load of 2 amps is reached. • To reduce the risk of electrical shock or fire, do not expose this unit to rain or moisture. • Do not spill water or other liquids into or on to your unit. -

DMX SETUP Power Supply: The ADJ Boom Box FX3 contains an automatic voltage switch, which will automati- cally sense the voltage when it is plugged into the power source. With this switch there is no need to worry about the correct power voltage, and this unit can be plugged in anywhere. - Page 8 XLR connector of the last unit in your daisy chain to terminate the line. Using a cable terminator (ADJ part number Z-DMX/T) will decrease the possibilities of erratic behavior. 5-Pin XLR DMX Connectors. Some manufacturers use 5-pin XLR connectors for DATA transmis- sion in place of 3-pin.

INSTALLATION The unit should be mounted using a mounting clamp (not provided) and affixing it to the mounting bracket that is provided with the unit. Always ensure that the unit is firmly fixed to avoid vibration and slipping during operation. Always ensure that the structure to which you are attaching the unit is secure and is able to support at least 10 times the unit’s weight. -

SYSTEM MENU... - Page 12 SYSTEM MENU System Menu: When making adjustments, press ENTER to confirm your setup, then press and hold the MENU button for at least 3 seconds. To exit without making any adjustments, press the MENU button. The display will lock after 30 seconds, and can be unlocked by pressing and holding the MENU button for 3 seconds.

PRIMARY-SECONDARY SET UP This function will allow you to link up to 16 units together and operate without a controller. In a Primary-Secondary set up, one unit will act as the controlling unit and the others will react to the controlling unit’s programs. -

UC IR/AIRSTREAM CONTROL WIRELESS SETUP There are many factors that can affect and/or interrupt a wireless signal, including walls, glass, metal, objects, and people. Therefore, the following guidelines are recommended in order to maxi- mize the chances of having a clear path for the wireless signal to reach the device: •... - Page 18 The Boom Box FX3 is also compatible with the Airstream IR app. The IR transmitter is available through any ADJ dealer or through the ADJ parts website. Plug the transmitter into the headphone jack of your iOS phone or tablet. To control your IR fixture you must raise the volume to the maxi- mum on your iOS phone or tablet, aim the transmitter at the front of the fixture, and be no more than 15 feet away.

Page 22: Fuse Replacement | Cleaning | Trouble Shooting
FUSE REPLACEMENT Disconnect the unit from its power source, and remove the power cord from the unit. The fuse holder is located next to the I.E.C. power connection. Use a phillips head screw-driver to remove the fuse holder, then remove the fuse located inside the fuse holder and replace with the new fuse. Install the fuse holder and new fuse and secure it. -
