Never attempt to extract jammed toast, crumpets or muffins with a knife or any metal object, as contact with the live element may cause electrocution. The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating.
Getting Started Before First Use Before using your toaster for the first time remove any packaging material and promotional labels. Position your toaster on a firm level table or bench, clear of curtains and other combustible materials. You may notice an odour from the unit for the first use. This is normal and will cease after a short while.

Frozen Bread When toasting frozen bread: 1. Place the bread in the bread slots. 2. Choose the desired browning setting, and lower the lever until it locks in place. Press the “Defrost” button. The light behind the 'Defrost' button will illuminate. NOTE: The bread will be defrosted and toasted in the same cycle.
Cleaning and Storage Always switch off and unplug the appliance from the power outlet before cleaning. Make sure the toaster has cooled down if recently used. Clean the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use cleaning products on the toaster as it could damage the finish. WARNING: Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
