110 Exchanging Messages
To customize download and format settings
Before you tap Finish when setting up your POP3 or IMAP4 e-mail account,
you can tap Options to choose download options, message format, and
other settings.

Description
You can select a time interval for connecting to
the Internet automatically to send and receive
messages. This may result in higher connection
charges. To save costs, you can select never to
connect automatically.
This allows your device to data roam when
there is a time interval for connecting to the
Internet automatically. Since this may result in
higher connection costs, you may want to leave
the check box cleared.
By default, messages are immediately delivered
when you tap Send. If you prefer to save
outgoing messages to the Outbox folder first,
clear the check box. (In this case, you will need
to manually send messages by tapping Menu >
Send/Receive).
Select the T-Mobile service or data connection
to use for connecting to the Internet.
Set the number of days of messages that you
want to be downloaded to your device.
Select this to ensure you always receive e-mail
for this account using SSL authentication. This
enables you to receive personal information
more securely. Please note that if you select
this and your ISP does not support an SSL
connection, you will not be able to connect to
receive e-mail.
Select this if your outgoing e-mail server
(SMTP) requires authentication.
If your outgoing e-mail server requires a
different user name and password than the
ones you entered before, select this check
box then tap Outgoing Settings to enter the
required settings.
