- Page 6 HOW TO OPERATE Note: Before using the first time, operate the toaster twice without food. Remaining factory residue may burn off and result in minor smoke or smell, but this is normal. TOAST 1. Place the food to be toasted in the slots (maximum thickness is 1¼"). 2.
