Thank you very much for choosing the FACTOR Electronics HORN-15. Please follow these
instructions carefully to ensure proper installation and operation. If you have any questions about
this product please contact Factor Electronics at
Installation:
1. Careful attention should be paid to the polarity of each HORN-15 when more than two
HORN-15's are used in the same area. Keep the polarity the same on all HORN-15's for the
best results.
2. Connect the BLACK wire to the common or negative terminal of the amplifier.
3. Connect the WHITE wire to the positive 25V,
or 70V terminal of the amplifier.
4. Wire multiple HORN-15's in parallel.
5. When long wiring runs and multiple HORN-15's are necessary always use a high impedance
25V or 70V amplifier.
6. For low impedance connections, the total impedance of speakers should be equal to output
impedance of amplifier.
7. When connecting multiple HORN-15's to a single 25V or 70V amplifier the total speaker
wattage should never exceed the wattage rating of the amplifier. In fact we recommend
using 30% headroom.
Example: Connect 10 x HORN-15's in parallel and set the wattage tap selector to 15 watts 70V
on each HORN-15. Add up the total wattage
10 x 15 watts =150 watts then add 30%.
150 x 1.3 =195 watts. Use an amplifier with a minimum of 195 watts @ 70V.
8. When setting the power tap switch , be certain
to use the proper positions for either 25V or
70V systems , to prevent horn damage.
