    GENERAL SAFETY PROCEDURES Safety is a combination of common sense, staying alert, and knowing how your chain saw works. SAVE THESE SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS. WARNING: Do not operate this unit until you read this instruction manual for safety, operation and maintenance instructions. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious personal injury.

    CHILD SAFETY Tragic accidents can occur if the operator is not aware of the presence of children. • Keep children out of the working area and under the watchful care of a responsible adult. • Do not allow children under the age of 14 to operate this trimmer. Children who are 14 years of age and older must read and understand the operating instructions and safety rules in this manual, and must be trained and supervised by a parent.

    • Use extreme caution when cutting small-sized brush and saplings because slender material may catch the saw chain and be whipped toward you or pull you off balance. • When cutting a limb that is under tension, be alert for spring back so that you will not be struck when the tension in the wood fibers is released.

    ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS WARNING: Do not use this product if any parts on the packing list are already assembled to your product when you unpack it. Parts on this list are not assembled to the product by the manufacturer and require customer installation. Use of a product that may have been improperly assembled could result in serious personal injury.

    OPERATION WARNING: Read and thoroughly understand all instructions and safety information before operating this chain saw. Failure to do so may cause serious injury or death. Do not allow anyone to operate this chain saw who has not read this manual. A chain saw can be dangerous if assembled or used improperly.
  • Page 13 WARNING: Follow these instructions in order to avoid injury and to reduce the risk of electric shock or fire: • Replace the battery pack or the charger immediately if the battery case or charger cord is damaged. • Verify that the battery pack is removed before inspecting, adjusting, or performing maintenance on any part of the chain saw.

  • Page 15 CHAIN TENSION WARNING: To avoid possible serious injury, never touch or adjust the chain while the motor is running. The saw chain is very sharp; always wear protective gloves when performing maintenance to the chain. 1. Stop the motor and remove the battery pack before adjusting the chain tension. 2.

GUIDE BAR MAINTENANCE When the guide bar shows signs of wear, reverse it on the saw to distribute the wear for maximum bar life. The bar should be cleaned every day of use and checked for wear and damage.
