Chapter 5. Configure advanced settings
This chapter provides information about UEFI/BIOS and system recovery.
Novo button menu
Some Lenovo computers include a Novo button. When the computer is turned off, you can press it to open
the Novo button menu. The following table lists the menu items and their functions.
Note: As the table shows, there are alternative ways to performing tasks by using menu items. However,
using the menu is typically more convenient.

UEFI/BIOS
This section introduces what is UEFI/BIOS and the operations you can perform in the UEFI/BIOS setup utility.
What is UEFI/BIOS setup utility
UEFI/BIOS is the first program that the computer runs when the computer is turned on. UEFI/BIOS initializes
hardware components and loads the operating system. Your computer may include a setup program (setup
utility) with which you can change UEFI/BIOS settings.
Open the UEFI/BIOS setup utility
Step 1.
Turn on or restart the computer.
Step 2.
When the Lenovo logo appears on the screen, press F2 repeatedly.
Note: For computers with hotkey mode enabled, press Fn + F2. If your computer includes a Novo
button, you can also open the UEFI/BIOS setup utility from the Novo button menu.

You can navigate in the UEFI/BIOS interface by pressing the following keys:
