Thor makes ice once or twice then shuts off so ice melts and nothing is there next time I look. I turn it on again and it starts to work, only to shut off at some point. It used to work!!! I shut it off and cleaned it out to go on vacation. Don’t know if this caused trouble?! I am getting very frustrated!!!

The THOR TIM1501 ice maker could shut off after making ice due to the following reasons:

1. The ice storage bin is full – remove some ice cubes and ensure the ice-full probe is not covered with ice.
2. The temperature is outside the stated range – the machine disconnects until the temperature returns to normal.
3. Electrical grounding issue – ensure the socket meets grounding requirements.

Some users have reported that the Thor Kitchen TIM1501 ice maker is very loud during operation, comparing the noise to a jet engine or a push mower when the compressor turns on. This could be due to the unit’s design or components used in the ice-making process. If the noise is excessive, it may be a normal characteristic of the model, or there could be an issue with the compressor or other internal parts.

We need to reverse the door however the brand label will then be upside down. Can you remove the metal plate name and flip correctly?
