Justieren des Chassis Das Aluminium-Chassis ruht mit einstellbaren Metallfüßen auf vier vibrationshemmenden Gummielementen und kann so perfekt in Waage gebracht werden. Tonarm und Tonabnehmersystem Antiskating-Gewicht montieren Der Tonarm TP 124 besitzt eine innovative Anti- skating-Lösung. Ein Messing-Gewicht ist mit- tels eines über ein reibungsarmes Rubinlager umgelenkten Nylonfadens an einem Ausleger an der Tonarmbasis befestigt und übt so eine prä- zise definierte Zugkraft aus, die der in Richtung Plattentellermitte wirkenden Skatingkraft der sich Fig. - Page 10 Führen Sie nun vorsichtig das Messinggewicht in die dafür vorgesehene Öffnung in Tonarmbasis ein (Fig. 7) und stecken Sie anschließend den Lagerhalter aus Aluminium in die gleiche Öffnung, bis er auf dem vormontierten Gummiring aufliegt. Achten Sie dabei darauf, dass sich der Nylon- faden nicht verknotet, sondern sich frei bewegen kann.

Tonabnehmer einbauen Am Tonarm TP 124 können alle Tonabnehmer- systeme mit SME-Bajonettverschluss direkt montiert werden. Wenn Sie einen anderen Tonab- nehmer verwenden möchten, liegt dem TD 124 DD zu diesem Zweck eine Headshell mit SME- Bajonett bei. Tonarmgewicht montieren und einstellen Dem TD 124 DD liegen zwei unterschiedlich große Tonarmgewichte bei, die je nach Eigen- gewicht des verwendeten Tonabnehmersys- tems zum Einsatz kommen. (Fig. 11) Für die meisten Tonabnehmer, die mit der Headshell montiert werden, sowie viele kleinere Systeme mit SME-Bajonett ist das kleinere Tonarmge- Fig. - Page 13 Ziehen Sie nun die Madenschraube wieder ganz leicht an und drehen Sie dabei das Gewicht vor- sichtig um die Tonarmachse, bis die Schraube in die spiralförmige Nut im Tonarm fasst. Nun können Sie die Position des Gewichts auf der Achse durch Drehen präzise verändern. Legen Sie eine Schallplatte auf den Plattenteller, lösen Sie den Tonarm aus seiner Einrast-Posi- Fig.

Auflagekraft einstellen Nachdem Sie die Nullstellung des Tonarms wie beschrieben eingestellt haben, können Sie mit der Skala auf der Oberseite des Tonarmlagers die für den Tonabnehmer empfohlene Auflage- kraft einstellen. Den empfohlenen Wert ent- nehmen Sie bitte den technischen Daten Ihres Tonabnehmers. -

Tonarmhöhe einstellen (VTA) Je nach verwendetem Tonabnehmersystem kann es nötig sein, den Vertical Tracking Angle (VTA) anzupassen. Dafür stellen Sie die Höhe des Tonarms wie folgt ein: Am Fuß des Tonabnehmerlagers befindet sich dazu ein konischer Einstellring, der von einer darüber sitzenden Kontermutter gesichert Fig. -

Azimut einstellen Für eine genaue Abtastung der Rillenflanken ist es wichtig, dass die Nadel genau in einem 90°-Winkel zur Oberfläche der Schallplatte steht. Manche Tonabnehmer bieten Möglichkei- ten, diesen Azimut genannten Winkel einzustel- len. In anderen Fällen kann der Azimut direkt am Tonarm TP 124 eingestellt werden. -

Betrieb des TD 124 DD Schallplatte auflegen Der TD 124 DD ist ohne weiteres Zubehör für die Wiedergabe sowohl von Langspielplatten als auch von Singles vorbereitet. LPs und alle an- deren Platten mit einem herkömmlichen 7mm- Mittelloch werden einfach vorsichtig auf die Ach- se gesteckt und auf den Plattenteller gelegt. -

Tonearm and Cartridge Mounting the Antiskating Weight The TP 124 tonearm features an innovative anti-skating solution. A brass weight is attached to a boom on the tonearm base by means of a nylon thread guided by a low-friction ruby bear- ing. -

Now carefully insert the brass weight into the opening provided in the tonearm base (Fig. 7) and then insert the aluminium bearing holder into the same opening until it rests on the pre-as- sembled rubber ring. Make sure that the nylon thread does not become entangled and that it can move freely. -

Installing the Cartridge All pick-up systems with SME bayonet mount can be fitted directly to the TP 124 tone arm. If you wish to use a different cartridge, the TD 124 DD comes with a headshell with SME bayonet for this purpose. In this case, first attach the car- tridge to the headshell according to the cartridge manufacturer‘s instructions. -

Mounting and Adjusting the Tonearm Weight The TD 124 DD comes with two different tonearm weights, which are used depending on the weight of the chosen pick-up system. (Fig. 11) For most cartridges mounted with the headshell and many smaller systems with SME bayonet the smaller tonearm weight is sufficient. - Page 36 Place a record on the turntable, release the tonearm from its locked position, make sure that the tonearm lift is set to its lower position (see page 44) and place the needle in the re- cord groove approximately in the middle of the record.

Adjusting the Tracking Force After you have adjusted the tonearm‘s neutral position as described, you can use the dial on the top of the tonearm bearing to set the rec- ommended tracking force for the cartridge. The recommended value can be found in the techni- cal specifications of your cartridge. -

Operation of the TD 124 DD Placing the Record The TD 124 DD is prepared for playback of both LPs and singles without any additional acces- sories. LPs and all other records with a con- ventional 7mm center hole are simply carefully placed on the axle and put down on the platter. -
