MAINTENANCE The bearings in the Lawn Sweeper have been pre- lubricated at the factory; however, it is recommended that a few drops of light oil should be added to the gear and shaft twice a year. In addition every two years, the wheels should be removed and cleaned. • After cleaning apply a light coat of grease. • Remove the hub cap by gently prizing off with a screwdriver and remove retaining the (E) ring and flat washer. Wheels Gears/Pawl Service: • Remove one wheel at a time to avoid confusing the right and left wheel parts. • Make notes of the position of all the washers and retaining rings. • The pawl, inside the ratchet gear, has a curved end and a flat end. • When reassembling the ratchet gear and pawl, fill with grease. • Reassemble the wheel and turn. If the brushes drive in both directions the pawl is assembled incorrectly - remove and flip the pawl over. • If the brushes drive in one direction the pawl is as- sembled correctly. Brush Replacement: • Replace one brush at a time. • Remove the hopper bag and tip the sweeper forward on the housing for ease of replacement.
