Changing Combs
To insert a comb onto the clippers, hold both sides of the comb with one hand,
ensure the blade is aligned with the slot on comb and push the clippers upwards.
To remove a comb, disengage the locked part of the comb on both sides and pull
the clippers down, away from the comb (Figure 1).
Trimming your Pet's Hair
1.
Before using the clippers, ensure your pet is clean and dry. Dirt and grime may clog up
your clippers.
2.
Brush out any knots or clumps of hair before you begin grooming.
3.
To help your pet feel more comfortable, turn it on the clippers and let them get used to
the sound. Once your pet is comfortable, pick a spot to test the clippers.
Note: The first cuts may startle your pet, it is recommend having another person present to
help keep your pet calm during grooming.
4.
Trim from the neck down:
Start trimming from the top of your pet's neck, slowly work your way down to the
shoulder area. Ensure you are following the natural direction that the fur lays.
From the neck area, work down to your pet's back and the sides of the body.
To trim your pet's legs, starting with the front legs, carefully hold the leg straight
and run the clippers down it. Once the front legs are done, move onto the hind legs.
Note: Take regular breaks to ensure that the blades do not overheat and your pet is
comfortable.
5.
Leave sensitive spots for last. When trimming sensitive areas such as the face, take
care to ensure the clippers are not too close to your pet's skin.
