    Installing the USIM and battery 1 Remove the battery cover Press and hold down the battery release button at the top of the phone and lift off the battery cover. 2 Remove the battery Hold the bottom edge of the battery and lift it from the battery compartment.

    Your home screen Whenever your KC910i is not in use it will return to your home screen. From here you can access all menu options, make a quick call and view the status of your phone - as well as many other things.
  • Page 27 The quick keys The quick keys on your home screen provide easy, one-touch access to your most used functions. Touch to bring up the touch dialling pad to make a call. Input the number as you would using a normal key pad and touch Call or press hard key.
  • Page 28 Your home screen The status bar The status bar uses various icons to indicate things like signal strength, new messages and battery life as well as telling you whether your Bluetooth or GPRS is active. Below is a table which explains the meaning of icons you’re likely to see in the status bar.

    Contacts Searching for a contact There are two ways to search for a contact: From the home screen 1 From the home screen touch to open Contacts. Touch Name and enter the name of the contact using the key pad. 2 Touch the name of the contact then touch key to initiate the call.

    Message folders Select Communicate and choose Messaging. You’ll recognise the folder structure used on your KC910i, it is fairly self- explanatory.     Camera Using the flash The flash is set to auto as default, but there are other options. 1 Select from the right side of the viewfinder to enter the flash sub-menu. 2 There are three flash options: Auto - Your camera will assess the lighting needed to take a good picture and use the flash as necessary.

    Continuous shot - This enables you to take seven shots automatically in very quick succession. Panorama - This shot type is great for taking a photo of a large group of people or for capturing a panoramic view. See Taking a panoramic shot on page 60 for more details.
