  • Page 3 Why List NMHC as an Monitoring Target • TVOC can be represented by THC (CH4+NMHC) or NMHC. • CH4 is a non-toxic and unharmful gas and it accounts for the major part of THC. NMHC is the harmful & hazardous part in THC. Thus, to analyze toxic VOCs, NMHC is a more precise target than THC.

The Nutech 3000 adopts catalytic oxidation + double FIDs technology to simultaneously analyzes THC & NMHC. The sample gas is introduced to the analyzer by 2 channels. FID 1 analyzes the concentration of THC (total hydrocarbon) of the gas sample in channel 1.

Instrument Introduction The Nutech 3000 is an instrument for portable monitoring of total hydrocarbons, methane and non-methane hydrocarbons in stationary emission sources. The instrument is controlled by computer software and communicated through WiFi connection.

    Filling Hydrogen into Metal Hydride H2 Cylinder 1. Put the metal hydride hydrogen cylinder in ice water and connect it with the hydrogen tank. 2. Set the output pressure of the hydrogen tank to be 0.6Mpa. 3. Open the valve to introduce hydrogen into the metal hydride hydrogen cylinder. The cylinder will become hot shortly.
  • Page 19 3. When the instrument is turned on, it will automatically ignite. Wait for the device status to be idle which signify that the device is successfully warmed up. When the small circle of hydrogen status is red, it means that the pressure CAUTION of the hydrogen cylinder is insufficient.

  • Page 21 Click the small circle on the left of Multiple to set the interval time and Test Times. In this mode, the instrument performs analysis according to the set times and obtains the corresponding data. The interval time refers to the interval time between this data and the next CAUTION data, that is, the analysis period.
  • Page 22 Hydrogen & Air When the hydrogen and air are switched to the external mode, the output pressure of the cylinder can be seen at Status section. The cylinder pressure reducing valve shall be adjusted to proper level. It is recommended that the output pressure of the gas cylinder should not CAUTION exceed 50 psi, otherwise the valve inside the instrument may be damaged.
  • Page 23 2. External Mode Sample Gas: Sample gas is stored at canisters or Tedlar bags and then injected to the instrument. Standard Gas: High-pressure standard gas is injected to the instrument. If the sample runs at External model, the pressure should be controlled at 4 CAUTION psi-15 psi.
