Before you Start Ensure you have read and fully understood the safety requirements in the user guide that is delivered with your system. After installation of your system make sure you keep the installation guide near your system.You'll need this information when you want to move the system or change the system network settings.
Before You Start Please ensure that your Document System is unpacked and installed on a stable surface. The following items are delivered with your system: • Internet (LAN) cable (1, optional), Power cable (2), Brushes (3) • User Guide, this Installation Guide and the User Training Package (4) •...

Remove the cardboard from the exit of the system. If all items are delivered and the machine is placed into the correct position, then continue with the installation instructions.
Install the Feeders Install the Document Feeders The system is delivered with at least one document feeder. Install the feeders as follows: Unpack the document feeder. Slide the main document feeder (you can recognize the feeder by the address carrier symbol) into the top feeder slot.

Slide the optional (enclosure) feeder into the bottom feeder slot (you can recognize the feeder by the enclosure symbol). Push the feeder until you hear a click or feel that the feeder is securely installed. The document feeders are now ready to use.
Install the (optional) BRE Feeder The BRE feeder is an option for the DS-65. To install the BRE feeder proceed as follows: Unpack the BRE feeder. Follow the Unpacking Instruction delivered with the BRE feeder box. To place the BRE feeder you have to remove the cover plate from the system. Push the pins and pull the cover plate from the system (see figure).
Connect the System to Mains Power Supply and Power Up Connect to the Power Supply Ensure that the local power voltage is suitable for this system. Refer to the serial label inside the system, see figure. The power connection must be easily accessible, preferably close to the system. For safety reasons, it is essential that the system is connected to a socket outlet that has a protective earth connection.
Connect the power cable to the system (A) and to the mains power supply. Power Up Make sure the system is connected to the power supply. Press the On/Off button next to the display. The touch screen shows the Home Menu.
Install the Brush Place the Brush The brush is used for sealing the envelopes. To install the brush proceed as follows: From the Settings Menu select [Supervisor], select [Maintenance], select [Replace brush]. Press [Open], the brush cover opens. Open the system. Moisten the new brush with running tap water.

Place the brush in the system. a. Lift the combiroller A. b. Lift the pressplate B and keep it in the upright position with your hands. c. Press the brush into the brush holder C. Some force needs to be applied. In the replace brush menu press [Close], the brush cover closes.
Filling the Sealing Liquid Bottle Filling the Sealing Liquid Bottle The system uses sealing liquid for sealing envelopes. If the system is out of sealing liquid, the mailing process continues but the envelopes will not be sealed properly. The sealing liquid level detection system will warn you when your sealing liquid bottle is almost empty.

Remove the sealing liquid bottle. Place the bottle on its bottom and turn the cap (bayonet thread) to open. Fill the bottle with sealing liquid up to the filling level indicator and close it. Fill the sealing liquid bottle with the sealing product that is recommended by your dealer.

Place the bottle in the system. Ensure that bottle is placed correctly. Close the system.
Set Language and Time Setting the Language, Date and Time To set the language, date and time: Press the icon in the home menu to open the Settings Menu. Press [Localisation] to change language settings. Press [Supervisor], [Date and Time Settings], to change time settings.

Check the boxes as indicated in the figure (Automatically obtain IP address and DNS auto). In the rare situation that the DHCP server does not provide DNS settings, do not check the DNS auto box and press [>]. In the DNS settings menu you can enter the preferred DNS IP address and Alternate DNS IP address manually.

Press Forward [>] to enter the IP settings. Press Forward [>] to enter the DNS settings. Press [OK] to accept the settings. In the Communication Settings Menu, press Forward [>] to set the Online service connection type. Press [Settings] in the LAN area. Check the boxes as indicated in the figure (Automatically obtain IP address, DNS auto, Use proxy).

Press [OK] to accept the settings. Press Forward [>] to enter the Proxy URI and Proxy port. When you need to login to the proxy server, check the Use proxy login box. Enter the user name and password. Press [OK] to accept the settings. In the Communication Settings Menu, press Forward [>] to set the Online service connection type.

Configuring LAN where DHCP=No and Proxy=Yes If DHCP is not supported and a proxy server is required, connect the system's OLS as follows to a LAN: In the Settings Menu, press [Supervisor], [System Configuration], [Communication Settings]. Press [Settings] in the LAN area. Uncheck the boxes as indicated in the figure, check the Use proxy box.

Press [OK] to accept the settings. In the Communication Settings Menu, press Forward [>] to set the Online service connection type. In case Online service connection is not set to LAN, press the [Change] button, select LAN and press [OK]. Now, you are ready to connect the LAN cable (see Connecting the system to the LAN page 24).

Connecting the system to the LAN Use a LAN cable (at least Cat 5 quality) to connect the system to LAN. Connect the system to LAN as follows: The amber LED indicates if data is transmitted through the cable. Connect the cable to the LAN port of the system (B). Connect the cable to the LAN.

Testing OLS connection with LAN The OLS test consists of two main steps: Test the connection to the local servers (LAN test). Test the connection to the (external) OLS server. Test the LAN connection as follows: In the Settings Menu, press [Supervisor], [Communication Settings]. Press the [Test] button in the LAN area.

The system pings to all server IP addresses that are configured in the system. In case the server responds in time, the test is considered as passed. This is indicated with a flag. If the servers are set to 'not respond to ping requests', the test fails. This test does not check if the inlog name and password for the proxy server are correct.

This test requires the following condition: The system passed the previous LAN test. If all tests are passed successfully, you are ready to make your first connection (see Connect for initial declaration on page 34).
Setting up OLS with an analogue modem Configuring the analogue modem connection Set up an analogue modem connection as follows: In the Settings Menu, press [Supervisor], [System Configuration], [Communication Settings]. Press [Settings] in the Analogue modem area.

Connecting the system with an analogue modem The analogue modem is an accessory that you can use when you do not have a LAN connection available. The modem can be ordered separately. Connect the modem as follows: Connect the USB connector of the modem to USB port D of the system. Connect the RJ11 phone connector of the modem to an analogue telephone line.

Testing OLS connection with a modem The OLS test consists of two main steps: - Test the modem connection. - Test the connection to the (external) OLS server. Test the modem connection as follows: In the Settings Menu, press [Supervisor], [Communication Settings]. Press the [Test] button in the Analogue modem area.

Test the connection to the OLS server as follows: In the Settings Menu, press [Supervisor], [Communication Settings]. Press Forward [>]. Press the [Test] button. This test requires the following condition: The system passed the previous modem test. With this test, the system tries to contact the OLS server. To contact this server, the communication must pass the firewall.
Using OLS Connecting the First Time The first time you use Online Services, your system must be 'declared' by the OLS server. Declare the system as follows: From the Settings Menu press [Online services]. Press [Connect]. A message appears on the display that shows if the system declaration was successful. If the declaration was not successful, the message shows 'system unknown'.

Upload data test With the upload data test, you can test if you can upload data to the OLS server. If the system is not declared, you cannot execute the upload data test (see Connecting the First Time on page 34). In the Settings Menu, press [Supervisor], [Communication Settings].
Reference information Osiris, Re-key URI and TCP output port settings for each country The URIs and port numbers in the figures in this section are examples. Apply your local service organisation settings. Only a service engineer can change the Osiris and Re-key URI and the TCP output port. The settings are defined in the settings menu, [Service], [System configuration], [Communication settings].

Only a service engineer can change the analogue modem prefix, suffix and password. The settings are defined in the settings menu, [Service], [System configuration], [Communication settings], Analogue modem [Settings]. The prefix, suffix and password are used for login. The values depend on the country.
Terminology Terminology and acronyms Uniform Resource Identifier is an address to locate a service on the network by resolving the IP address with a DNS server. MAC address Media Access Control address (MAC address) is a unique identifier assigned to network interfaces for communications on the physical network segment.
Test the System with the User Training Package Using the User Training Package With the system an User Training Package is delivered with test envelopes and documents. Use this training package to test te system and get familiar with the basic functions of your document system.

Place a stack of documents in the feeder, do not place more documents than indicated by the "max" symbol on the feeder. See the arrow on the document for the correct orientation. Make sure the paper touches the stop. Load envelopes in the envelope hopper. The correct position is indicated on the test envelopes.

Pull back support C. Put a small stack of envelopes between the side guides. Release back support C. Set the side guides of the stacker according to the envelope width. Rotate B to move the side guides. Use the indicators C on the fingers to determine the side guide position. If necessary, remove extensions D.
