2. Press the button DISC/USB/CARD until "USb" is
shown on the display.
3. Connect a USB storage device. After a few seconds,
the total number of folders and the title are dis-
played, and then playback starts. The display shows
the current title,
MP3, and USB.
For the operating procedure, refer to the section "Play
CDs/MP3".
To change back to CD mode, press the button DISC/USB/
CARD until "– – –" flashes on the display.
ATTENTION:
Before removing the USB storage device, set the func-
tion selector (21) to the position LINE IN/RADIO.
Card slot (11)
1. For playback of data on an SD/MMC card, insert the
card into the card slot. In doing so, the contacts must
face upwards.
2. Set the function selector (21) to the position CD/
MP3/USB/CARD.
3. Press the button (9) DISC/USB/CARD until "Sd" is
shown on the display. After a few seconds, the total
number of folders and the title are displayed, and
then playback starts. The display shows the current
title,
MP3, and CARD.
For the operating procedure, refer to the section "Play
CDs/MP3".
To change back to CD mode, press the button DISC/USB/
CARD until "– – –" flashes on the display.
LINE IN socket (back of the device)
To connect analogue replay devices. Via this socket you
can also hear the sound of other playback devices such
as MP3 players, CD players etc. through the loudspeakers.
1. Please connect the external device with a 3.5 mm
stereo jack plug to the LINE IN socket.
2. Set the function selector (21) to the position LINE IN/
RADIO. The radio sound is switched off.
3. Through the loudspeakers you can hear the playback
of the sound from the external device; with the VOL-
UME control (19) you can change the volume. The CD
buttons do not have any function.
4. For the remaining procedure please see the operating
instructions of the external sound source.
NOTE:
Adjust the volume of the external device to a comfor-
table level.
Listening to the Radio
1. Turn the function selector switch (21) to the LINE IN/
RADIO. position.
2. Use the band selector switch (4) to select the desired
frequency band.
VHF (Stereo) = FM ST., VHF = FM,
Medium wave = AM (Mono)
3. Tune in the desired station with the station adjust-
ment knob TUNING (5).
4. The FM ST control lamp (12) only lights up when you
have selected FM stereo and the station is being re-
ceived in stereo quality. If reception is too weak and
there is noise on the station being received, this lamp
will licker. Where reception is bad we recommend
switching to FM.
5. For VHF/FM mode pull out the telescopic antenna (1)
and turn it to improve reception.
6. An aerial is integrated into the device for the recep-
tion of AM stations. The machine can be aligned
to the station by turning it. In this frequency band
programs are transmitted in "mono" only.
Playing CDs/MP3
This is how you play a CD
1. Turn the function selector switch (21) to the "CD/
MP3/USB/CARD" position.
2. Open the CD compartment (3) by pulling the lid
upwards by the tab (6).
3. Insert an audio CD with the printed side facing
upwards on to the central cone so that the CD clicks
into place and then close the lid of the CD compart-
ment.
4. After a few seconds the total number of songs/tracks
is shown in the display.
NOTE:
In the case of CDs in MP3 format the number of
folders is briely displayed at first.
5. The CD will play from the first title. The current track
and the playing time that has elapsed are shown in
the display.
NOTE:
With CDs in MP3 format the current track and
folder are shown alternately in the display.
6. In order to remove a CD, please press the key (8),
open the CD compartment and lift the CD out care-
fully.
