8. Operation

The RedMax stick edgers are designed
for edging lawn in gardens, parks,
roadsides and so on.
Before starting the engine, take the
operating position and adjust the handle
position and the wheel height as
necessary.
■ ADJUSTING WHEEL HEIGHT
OP1
1. Loosen the wing nut and change the
wheel height to obtain desired cutting
depth. (OP1)

2. After adjusting the height, tighten the
wing nut securely.
• Never adjust wheel height with the
engine running.

Tightening Torque:
51~68in-lbs (6~8N.m.)
WARNING
■ STARTING ENGINE
The cutting attachment will start
rotating upon the engine starts.
1. Rest the unit on a flat, firm place. Keep
the cutting attachment off the ground
and clear of surrounding objects as it

2. Push the air purge several times until
overflown fuel flows out in the clear
tube. (OP2)

5. Firmly grasp (a) and (b) with left hand

(0P4), pull the starter knob quickly until
engine attempts to start, or maximum 5
pulls.

• Avoid pulling the rope to its end or
returning it by releasing the knob. Such
actions can cause starter failures.
6. After engine attempts to start, or
maximum 5 pulls, move the choke lever
downward to open the choke. Grasp (a)
and (b) with left hand to wide open
position, and quickly pull the starter
knob until engine starts and run.
7. Check the engine speed go to high
rpm, then release the throttle trigger.
8. Allow the engine to warm up for several
minutes before starting operation.
