FIRMWARE RELEASE NOTES

FIRMWARE VERSION 1.3.2

Thank you for downloading the latest version of firmware for the
FireStore FS-3 DTE
disk recorder.
Focus Enhancements recommends that you update to this
latest version of
firmware if you are presently using a version older than what is noted
above.
To display
the current software version, turn on your FS-3 unit, select MENU and
scroll down to OS
VERSION NO.
Pressing SEL will display the current version.
IN ORDER TO DOWNLOAD THIS FIRMWARE, YOU WILL REQUIRE THE
FOLLOWING:
1) Windows 98SE, ME, 2000, XP or Macintosh OS9.1 or later computer
system with an
active OHCI compliant FireWire (IEEE-1394) port.
2) Focus Enhancements FireStore FS-3 DV Disk Recorder
3) Focus Enhancements FSHDD-1 FireWire disk drive or other FAT32
formatted
FireWire disk drive.
4) 6-pin to 6-pin FireWire (IEEE-1394) connector.
5) Copy of Release Notes available.

FIRMWARE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

To install new firmware to FS-3, do the following:
1) Download software from the Focus Enhancements website
(http://www.focusinfo.com/support/updates.htm) to your FireWire
equipped computer
system (see requirements above).
2) Unzip file using WinZip (Windows) or Stuffit (Macintosh) on a
computer system.
3) Once downloaded and unzipped, rename the file called "XXXX.bin" to
"fs3.bin"
(please ensure that spelling, punctuation and case is the same as
listed).
4) Connect a FireWire disk drive that has been used with FS-3 (or other
FAT32 formatted
drive) to the computer and copy over the file "fs3.bin".
5) Disconnect the FireWire drive from the computer (ensure to properly
dismount the
drive first), and connect to FS-3.
Power on FS-3 as per normal.
6) Enter the FS-3 menu and select "SETUP".
From the SETUP menu, select
"OS
UPGRADE".
7) When prompted, "DO YOU WANT TO UPGRADE SYSTEM SOFTWARE?",
answer YES and YES again to the erase current OS warning messages.
Upgrade will
begin.
8) After upgrade is complete, power cycle FS-3.
