The recorder has to be powered off before plugging in the usb cable to charge and then you plug in and hold down the stop button? I Use the voice guide but this doesn't seem to make any notifications.

To properly charge the Olympus DM-550 recorder using the USB cable:
1. Ensure the recorder is in Stop or Hold status. 2. Load fresh batteries if necessary. 3. Connect the USB cable to the connecting terminal on the bottom of the recorder while pressing the STOP (4) button. 4. The [Batt.Charge mode] message will appear on the display. 5. Continue holding the STOP (4) button until [Charging] appears on the display.
Notes: - Use only Ni-MH rechargeable batteries. - Charging will stop temporarily during recording, playback, or data transmission. - Avoid using a USB hub, as it may cause unstable operation. - Ensure the USB cable is fully inserted for proper operation.
