The GoPro Remote

The GoPro Wireless remote is a useful accessory allowing you to remotely control
the GoPro, or multiple GoPro's, at once.
The remote is waterproof out to about 3m, it is not suitable for swimming but
usable in the rain. Its standard range is up to 600ft range, as long as nothing
interferes with the signal.
It can be used to turn the GoPro(s) on and set them to record. Note however, you
cannot use the app and remote at the same time.
Connecting to the GoPro Remote: On the GoPro go to the Setup menu, Wireless,
and Wi-Fi RC. The GoPro will then start searching for the remote.
With the remote off, press and hold the record button and then press the power button. Hold the
remote close to the GoPro until a tick symbol appears on the GoPro's screen.
The remote will keep searching for more GoPros to connect to. To stop this, press the record button
once on the remote. To deactivate the remote, go to Setup menu, Wireless and then turn the
Wireless off.
Accessing the settings does not change the mode selected
on the GoPro. You can change the settings live.
All the settings normally available in the Video, Photo, Burst
and Setup mode are here.
The Time Lapse mode on the app and the Burst mode on
the GoPro are the same thing just under different names.
The mode option settings can also be changed here once
activated in the main screen.
Right at the bottom
of the settings is
information about
the SD card, clicking
on this brings up
some useful
information about
what is on the card.
Because settings can be changed live, the GoPro can also be
connected to a monitor at the same time and the app then
used as a remote control.
