Introduction Please read the entire instruction manual before attempting installation. The AVS C-Series system is compatible with CAN-Bus traffic in most modern vehicles. However the alarm module needs to be programmed for a given make and model of vehicle before installation via the AVS C- Series PC proramming software in order to work properly. -
Page 4: Boot Release Button
Boot release button: Press the button on the factory remote. The alarm will disarm the boot input, ultrasonic sensors and any additional sensors, the LED will flash quickly showing it is in this state. Closing the boot will rearm the alarm and return it to normal. Page 5: Additional Features
Additional features Battery back-up siren (AVS C5/C4): The battery back-up siren has its own battery and charging system so it will continue to sound if power is cut to it when the key switch is turned on. The siren will sound if power is removed. It is recommended to mount the siren in an inconspicuous location in the engine bay. -
Page 6: Emergency Disarm / Pin Code Override
Emergency disarm / PIN code override This feature enables the owner to disarm the system if the remote has been lost or broken (or the remote batteries are flat). There are 8888 possible combinations. The PIN code MUST be set at time of install using the programming software and be recorded in the back of the owners manual. -

Service mode The AVS C-Series range has a dedicated service mode called VEHICLE SECURITY SYSTEM (VSS) SERVICE MODE which has five stages. Service mode can be used to: • Access past alarm trigger memory (stage 1) • Test CAN and analogue system inputs - door/boot/bonnet (stage 2) and additional sensor inputs (stage 3) •... -

Stage 3 – Testing an additional sensor (LED flashes 3x) To go to SERVICE MODE stage 3 - from Stage 2, press and hold the PA button (for approx. 3 seconds) until the siren chirps 3x. • Triggering an additional sensor (e.g. shock sensor) connected to either the front and rear sensor sockets is signaled by a single chirp of the siren. - Page 9 2. The LED lights up for 5 seconds a. Press any button of the 2nd CANREMOTE --> the LED turns off. CANREMOTE. 2 is now programmed. b. OR short press the PA button --> the LED turns off instantly. CANREMOTE 2 is not programmed.

Battery back-up siren wiring - BBSM (AVS C5/C4) The AVS battery backup siren has the following wires located on it: Red: connect to thin red wire at A4 from the alarm module Black: connect to black wire at B5 from the alarm module Yellow: this is the siren trigger wire. -

Changing programmable features The AVS C-Series range is programmed via the AVS C-Series PC software by simply connecting the alarm via mini USB cable. When the unit is connected for the first time, the USB device will be automatically installed. Download the C-Series software from the AVS Installer section of the website. -
