Please can you let me know for sure if the Safer Walking GPS tracker can be monitored/ managed on a desktop, rather than on a smartphone? I just phoned and was told it could. Looking at the manual however, I cannot see this option.

What can this GPS Locator and Safer Walking App do? Getting started Step One: Charge your GPS locator for 3-4 hours Either with the charging dock: 1. Plug the small end of the charging cable into the back of the charging dock 2. Plug the large end of the charging cable into the mains plug 3.

Android phone, go to the Google Play Store 2. Search for “safer walking” and install the “Safer Walking” App by Ravencourt Ltd. from the available list of Apps (see image below) The App is free to download – you can access your paid account by logging into the App when you have downloaded it.

Step Four: …continued Once you have successfully added your device to the Safer Walking App, you will see a ‘Home’ screen showing a map and the main App functions. Before the GPS connection has been made to the locator, it will say “Your device will appear once a connection is made”.
Using the GPS Locator and Safer Walking App View the locator’s current location The location of the locator will be shown on the map on the ‘Home’ screen, as a marker labelled with the device name. You can zoom in and out of the map using a two finger pinch, and move the map around by sliding one finger across the screen.
Make a phone call to the locator The locator can be phoned from your smartphone using the Safer Walking App. To call the locator: 1. Make sure you are on the ‘Home’ screen that shows the locator’s position on a map (see page 9 – How to return to the Home screen) 2.
Use the SOS button to request help The person carrying the locator can press and hold the SOS button for 3 seconds to send an SOS alert to the App. The SOS button will vibrate and ‘beep’ so that the person pressing it can tell that it has been pressed successfully.
History – Where has the GPS locator been The Safer Walking App will store the history of your GPS locator’s locations for one month. Press the ‘History’ button below the locators name on the Home screen (see page 9 – How to return to the Home screen). The location of the locator during the last 48 hours will be shown.
Zones – Get alerts when the wearer enters or leaves an area The Safer Walking App allows you to set circular ‘Zones’ (sometimes known as geo-fences), so that an alert can be sent to all of the App users if the person enters or leaves that area. These zones could be, for example, Home (a small area close to home), Work (a small area describing the person’s workplace) or Village (a larger area that includes a regular walk).

Events – See past events relating to the locator To view past events press the ‘Events’ button at the bottom of the Home screen (see page 9 – How to return to the Home screen). Past events are shown in chronological order, so that you can see when alerts were reported for: •...
Setup – View locator device settings Setup allows you to check and edit information about the locator. • Press the ‘Setup’ button below the map at the bottom of the Home screen (see page 9 GPS accuracy: 10m – How to return to the Home screen) to access the device settings.
To add a locator: 1. Select the device model (RAVT01) 2. Enter a “Device Name” (chosen by you) 3. Enter the “Device ID” and “Device Phone Number” (found on the sticker on the box, and on the back of the locator) 4.
Battery life and charging Battery life In normal use, the battery of the locator typically lasts up to 48 hours from the last full charge. The approximate battery level is displayed on the Safer Walking App’s Home screen, below the time and date (see page 9 – How to return to the Home screen).
