How do I switch to taking pictures from myself to someone else in front of me?

To take pictures of someone else with the Vivitar ViviCam XX14, follow these steps:

1. Make sure the LCD screen is facing you so you can frame the shot.
2. Do not activate the Macro mode (leave the Macro switch lever down).
3. Hold the camera steady and point it at the person you want to photograph.
4. Press the Shutter button to take the picture.
5. The photo will be saved to the internal memory (if available) or the SD memory card.

  • Page 9 Setting the Date and Time The next step in the initial camera setup is to set the date and time on the camera. Press the UP/DOWN button to change and set the specific time/date settings. Press the RIGHT/LEFT button to move/toggle to a different part of the time/date setting options.

  • Page 14 Changing Camera Mode Your camera has three main modes: Photo Capture Mode - Use this mode to capture photos with your camera. Video Capture Mode - Use this mode to capture videos with your camera. Playback Mode (for photos and videos) - Use this mode to view the photos and videos you have already taken with your camera.
  • Page 15 Navigating the Menus Each camera mode has a set of menus specific to that mode. Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode. Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to scroll between the various menus for the current mode. Press the UP or DOWN button to highlight the desired menu selection.

This setting should be adjusted when the environment is lighter or darker than normal. When the environment has more light than is needed, reduce the exposure setting (by using the negative - count) to reduce the amount of light allowed into the lens by your camera.

  • Page 33 Auto Power Off Menu You can use the ‘Auto Power Off’ feature in order to conserve you camera’s battery life. The designated time represents when your camera will automatically power off. When the camera sits idle for the designated period of time, the camera will shut off completely and will need to be powered on again with the power button before the next use.
