- Page 5 EQUIPOTENTIAL BONDING TERMINAL (PENYAMBUNG EQUIPOTENSI) An equipotential terminal is used in installations for connecting various exposed conductive parts and extraneous conductive parts at substantially the same potential whereas the earth terminal is used to provide protection in the event of an insulation failure. The two are not the same thing and the earthing conductor in the supply cord is not considered to be an equipotential bonding conductor.
