This document describes how to install the external Range Extender Antenna for the Enterasys
RoamAbout 802.11a/b/g Wireless Ethernet Adapter.

The Range Extender Antenna is a dual band 2.4 GHz omnidirectional versatile mount antenna
covers 2.4 GHz (2 dBi) and the 5 GHz (4 dBi) frequencies with a VSWR of less than 2:1. The Range
Extender Antenna specifications are listed on page 5 of this document.
Mounting options include:
•
Very high bond tape for quick, easy mounting
•
Ceiling mount bracket for ceiling tile suspension
•
Base for use on desktop
Mounting the Range Extender Antenna
You can mount the Range Extender Antenna using one of the following mounts:
•
Using the Ceiling Mount
•
Using the Base Mount
•
Using the Tape Mount
The Range Extender Antenna kit includes the following hardware:
•
One plastic L‐bracket
•
One butterfly fastener, including one flat washer, one lock washer, one nut, and one nut cap
•
One base mount
•
Two tape mounts affixed to antenna back

- Page 2 Table 1 Range Extender Antenna Ceiling Mount Components Component Butterfly fastener Flat washer L-bracket Lock washer and nut Nut cap Tape mount Range Extender Antenna (RBT-AG-IA) Tape mount (not used for the ceiling mount configuration) To mount the Range Extender Antenna from a ceiling, perform the following steps: Insert the butterfly fastener screw through the flat washer and then through the top of the L‐bracket. Place the lock washer over the butterfly fastener screw from the under side of the L‐bracket. Thread the screw over the butterfly fastener screw and hand tighten. 2 of 5...

You select the tape mount that you want to use. Connector To tape mount the Range Extender Antenna, perform the following steps: Locate a place where you can affix the antenna using either the bottom tape mount only, or both tape mounts.
