Measurement of KPI

Use the wheel alignment gauge AM300/301 and
turn angle gauge AM135
Hang the frame gauges, gauge extensions and
measuring scales.
Jack up the front axle.
Attach the wheel adapter and laser projector.
Compensate for run-out of the wheel with the
adjustment knobs on the adapter.
The axle should be jacked up when measuring KPI
with the help of turn angle gauges AM135.
When measuring KPI the axle must be level.
The wheel should also have a brake engaged
with brake rod AM325.
Check the position of the axle with a spirit level.
The spirit level can be hung under the axle with a
magnetic hanger, for example, AM98. Look for a
place on the axle that is machined. Do not
measure on the underside of the springs if there
are different size spring spacers between the axle
and the springs.
It is easy to make the axle level with the help of
two jacks.
When the axle is level, place the turn angle gauges
AM135 on the floor for both the left and right sides,
with the scales centered and lined up with the
middle of the wheels.
Place the left and then the right wheel in a straight
ahead position with the laser projector.
Equal values on the front and rear measuring
scales.
Position the turn angle gauges on both sides with
the laser dot on the 0-line of the measuring scale.
Move the measuring scale along the profile and
check at both ends that the laser dot hits the 0-line.
NOTE!
When taking KPI measurements, the axle must
be level and
the wheel must have the brake
engaged.
Brake rod AM325 placed between the brake pedal
and the seat may be conveniently used.
