IDENTIFYING RESISTOR VALUES Use the following information as a guide in properly identifying the value of resistors. BAND 1 1st Digit Color Bands Black Multiplier Brown Tolerance Orange Yellow Green Blue Violet Gray White IDENTIFYING CAPACITOR VALUES Capacitors will be identified by their capacitance value in pF (picofarads), nF (nanofarads), or mF (microfarads). Most capacitors will have their actual value printed on them.

THE CLOCK OSCILLATOR The clock oscillator is an electronic circuit that puts out a series of high and low voltages. It is a square wave oscillator whose frequency is controlled by the value of resistor and capacitor (see Figure 2a). The clock oscillator consists of Part A of the MC14584 integrated circuit.
