Introduction The KB232 PS/2 Keyboard RS-232 adapter allows a PS/2 style keyboard to be connected to an RS-232 port of a computer or other equipment using RS- 232 communications. This allows the use of a standard “PC” type keyboard for embedded applications that only have RS-232 interfaces.

KB232 PS/2 Keyboard RS-232 Adapter Connections KB232 RS-232 Serial Port Connector The KB232 adapter uses a standard RS-232 9-Pin female “D” connector that can connect directly to a “PC” computer’s serial port. The KB232 can power itself and the attached keyboard using active DTR and CTS signals on pins 4 and 7 of the connector.
