Bike torque wrench - TW-5Nm
Instructions (READ FULL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING TORQUE WRENCH)
Warning
1 Over tightening of bolts and/or fasteners, may damage your bike frame, parts, etc. NEVER over tighten a bolt of fastener. Do NOT over
tighten the part you are installing as it may damage the part and/or bike frame and cause serious injury.
2 If you are tightening a bolt or fastener, that has a dry torque speci cation, and you have oiled the bolt, you will need to reduce the torque
by 15 to 25 percent. This is because slipperier surfaces have reduced friction. Some Te on lubes may reduce friction enough to require a
50% reduction in tightening torque. So check with the manufacture to ensure proper torque requirements.
3 Do NOT use the torque wrench to loosen bolts or parts as this may damage the torque wrench.
Filzer is not responsible for misuse of tool or damage caused to your part, component, bicycle, etc.
Notes:
1 The torque wrench is calibrated at the factory and cannot be calibrated by the user. We cannot re-calibrate the unit for you.
2 The torque wrench is calibrate at 5Nm and cannot be changed. 5Nm = 3.687ft-lbs = 44.25 in-lbs
3 Do not oil the torque wrench.
4 Do not get the torque wrench wet or soak in any type of liquid. Store the torque wrench in a clean dry area.
5 Before using torque wrench determine size of bolt and its torque speci cation. The manufacture of the bicycle or part will usually specify
torque setting for their parts and bolts. If you do not know the proper torque speci cation for the bolt or part DO NOT USE TORQUE
WRENCH! Read warnings above.
How to Use
1 The rst time you use the wrench, we recommend that you test the torque wrench on a bolt on a non-critical part so you get the feel for
the torque wrench and how it works.
Also, when you rst use the torque wrench, or after it has been stored for a while, apply torque until the wrench makes a CLICK. Repeat
this 20 times so the internal parts are fully lubricated. This will ensure the torque wrench works properly.
2 Locate bolt to be tightened. Ensure that the proper torque speci cation of the part and/or bolt is 5Nm. Check twice!
Warning: If the bolt you are tightening (or the part the bolt is fastening – i.e. carbon ber parts) maximum torque speci cation is lower
than 5Nm – do not use this torque wrench on the bolt and/or part. It will damage the bolt and/or part.
3 Once you have determined the proper torque speci cation for the bolt is 5Nm – choose proper bit and install it on the torque wrench.
4 Put the torque wrench (with proper size bit) on the bolt and turn the torque wrench CLOCK-WISE until it makes a 'CLICK'. The 'CLICK' will
be obvious. Once the wrench makes a 'CLICK' the bolt will be torqued to 5Nm.
Note: If you hear a cracking noise or some sort of 'bad' noise – inspect your part or bicycle frame to see if something was damaged. Never
use a damaged bike or bike part as this may cause serious injury – see warnings and notes above.
