Cautions With Restoring Factory Data
• When you copy the factory installed data to the RC-3, all data that was
previously in the unit's memory will be lost. Please back up the data to
your computer before restoring the factory data. Refer to "Backing up to
your computer" in the owner's manual for this procedure.
• While restoring the factory data, DO NOT:
o Turn off the RC-3's power.
o Disconnect the USB cable.
o Allow your computer to enter suspend (standby) or hibernate mode,
restart it, or shut it down.
* Doing any of these while restoring the factory data could cause your
computer to freeze or result in the loss of all of the RC-3's data.
Restoring Factory Data Procedure
1. Open/extract the downloaded "rc3_demo_data.zip" file on your computer.
A "rc3_demo_data" folder and a "RC-3 Restoring Factory Data
Procedure.pdf" file will appear in the window.
* Do not change the names of any of the extracted files or folders.
2. Turn on the power to the RC-3 (insert a plug into the OUTPUT A jack.)
3. Connect the RC-3 to your computer via a USB cable. When the
connection to the computer has completed, the RC-3 display will indicate
"Cn" and the following occurs:
Windows:
Within My Computer (or Computer), a "BOSS_RC-3" (or Removable Disk)
appears.
Mac:
On the desktop, a "BOSS_RC-3" icon appears.
Note: For the RC-3 to make a USB connection, the playback must be
stopped.
4. Recovering demo data from your computer to the RC-3
