PROBLEM
Handle not in position.
Mower not starting.

TROUBLESHOOTING

POSSIBLE CAUSE
Handle knobs not tight.
No fuel in tank.
Spark plug shorted or fouled.
Spark plug is broken (cracked porcelain
or electrodes broken).
Ignition lead wire shorted, broken, or
disconnected from spark plug.
Ignition inoperative.
Drive belt off pulley.
Drive belt worn.
Lawn is rough or cutting height not set
properly.
Wet grass clippings sticking to the un-
derside of the deck.
Grass is too thick.
High grass, rear of mower housing and
blade dragging in heavy grass, or cut-
ting height too low.
Cutting height set too low.
Walking too quickly while mowing.
Blade is unbalanced, excessively or
unevenly worn.
Bent engine shaft.
Cutting height set too low.

SOLUTION
Tighten handle knobs.
Fill tank.
