With its rugged design and high rate of data collection, you can analyze material as it passes through key areas of your process. Using the data acquired by Vertex, you have the ability to warn operators of incoming oversize material or contamination, or automate a response such as closing a crusher gap or triggering a flop gate.

The Vertex should be located on a conveyor belt in an area where 5VDC power and a network connection can be provided. You should locate the Vertex at a point in the process you would like to receive data from, either to control quality or collect historical data, or to directly control another piece of equipment, another process, or a group of other processes.

The Vertex is powered with 5V DC power. A field-wired, ingress-protected connector is provided with the system to attach an available 5V DC power source to the power receptable on the Vertex. When measured at the camera end of the cable, the voltage provided must be at least 5V DC, and must not exceed 5.125V DC.

Lighting will need to be provided at the installation point for accurate and consistent results from the Vertex system. The method and angle of lighting depends on the application. Flood lighting should be used in all cases to provide an even spread of light and avoid creating lighting “hot spots”.
3. Ensure the Vertex is powered and connected to the proper network before trying to connect to Connecting to the System 1. While connected to the same local area network that the Vertex is on, launch WipFrag on your preferred device. It is recommended to use a Windows PC for first time setup.

Setup Wizard feature to see streaming images from the camera and determine the image quality. The lens settings should be set once the Vertex is installed in the actual analysis location. Either perform this procedure in close proximity to the Vertex so that you can view the image while manipulating the lens settings, or coordinate with another person to adjust the lens settings while you monitor the image quality.

3. Set Zoom: Zoom the camera lens in so that the image is filled with target material (or so the image covers the width of the material on the conveyor belt). Do not include anything in the image that you do not need to analyze, such as edges of the conveyor belt which are always empty of material.
