I have the unit running in continuous mode. It has been running for about 8 hours now and did not collect a drop of water from a basement that recently flooded. I do not have the hose attached for continuous mode. Will the water drain into the unit bucket when in continuous mode or does the hose have to be attached for the unit to collect water and drain? Should i turn on timer mode instead?

The Black+Decker BD22MWSA unit requires a hose to be attached for continuous draining. Without the hose, water will collect in the bucket instead.
