Supplies
• Embroidery thread
• Fabric for appliqué (we used white satin for the snowy areas and ivory satin for the Cottage walls and roof)
• Embroidery machine
• Stabilizer
• Optional - tweezers, hemostats, stiletto or a tiny crochet hook
Note that the base of the building has a hole meant to contain a battery operated tea light candle. Alternatively there is a hole left in the back of the
building so that a standard wired Christmas light can be inserted.
Cottage
• Follow the General Freestanding Lace Guidelines
(page 4) and Cut In Place Appliqué Instructions
(page 3) and stitch the eleven pieces required as
listed in the summary above.
• Attach the front wall to the side wall by
inserting the three buttonettes along the right
side of the front wall into the three eyelets of
the left wall. Repeat this process to attach the
front wall to the chimney wall. Photo A
• Attach the foundation by inserting a buttonette
on the foundation into the eyelet at the bottom
center of the front wall, side wall and chimney
wall. Photo B
• Attach to the back wall to the side wall by
inserting the three buttonettes along the right
side of the back wall into the three eyelets of
the side wall. Photo C
• Assemble the porch. Attach the porch to the
pillars by inserting the buttonettes of the porch
to the eyelets of the pillars. Photo D
